The Christmas City Committee selects the most beautiful stalls of Dortmund's Christmas City 2024

Every Christmas market thrives on atmosphere. In addition to the light installations that take you back in time and the atmospherically lit tree, it's the stalls that bring joy to your eyes as you stroll through Dortmund, a city of Christmas. Many of the stalls are lovingly decorated, showcase handcrafted items, and the staff exude cheerful cheer. For this reason, a committee annually selects the most beautiful stalls in Dortmund, a city of Christmas.

Golden fir for the wood sculptor Patrycja Kujawowicz
Patrycja Kujawowicz has her studio at the Rügenhof in Putgarten, in the very north of the island of Rügen. Here, she brings tree trunks to life. This year, she opened her studio at Willy-Brandt-Platz, exhibiting her large and small works of art at booth number 512, and also carving a wide variety of wooden creatures on-site. A fascinating process to observe and impressive works of art, so much so that the committee unanimously selected Patrycja Kujawowicz's booth as the most beautiful booth in the Christmas City Dortmund 2024.

Silver Fir Tree for Deborah Arens and Manfred Hortz from 'Die Wurst'
Food stands are a rare find among the award winners, but in 2024, the Christmas City Committee quickly realized that the efforts of Deborah Arens and Manfred Hortz deserved recognition. In 2024, they arrived with a completely new stand, state-of-the-art in both technology and appearance, and they didn't skimp on the Christmas decorations either. The silver fir tree is worth all that effort and can be sampled at stand number 222.

Bronze fir tree for Martina and Michael Glöckner from Schönes & Feines
Traditional craftsmanship is an essential part of Dortmund, a Christmas city. Schönes & Feines is a jewelry workshop from Hattingen that specializes in handcrafted jewelry. Each piece is lovingly handcrafted and unique. At booth no. 431, Martina and Michael Glöckner will be making and selling jewelry that can even be customized. This dedication and attention to detail impressed the committee and justified the award of the bronze fir tree.

Dortmund, the Christmas city, thrives on its blend of tradition and modernity, craftsmanship and fun. This will be the case again in 2024.
Experience joy together – that’s Dortmund’s Christmas city!
