Winner of the trip to New York drawn
A sandwich, please… and a trip to New York!
Theresa Rath from Dortmund-Benninghofen was at the bakery when presenters Christopher Deppe and Tim Schmutzler from Radio 91.2 called her early Thursday morning. The reason for the call: The radio dog Slash had chosen the treat on the piece of paper with her name on it – thus choosing Theresa as the winner of the trip to New York, which was up for grabs in Dortmund's Christmas city.
Together with Radio 91.2 and the travel agency at the market in Dortmund-Mengede, Dortmund's Christmas City raffled off a trip to New York for two people. More than 1,000 people participated in the competition over a period of just over three weeks.
Theresa Rath will now fulfill her and her daughter Malia's long-held dream of traveling to the American metropolis. She sent a selfie with the Christmas tree from the official selfie point on Hansaplatz—with a self-painted sign reading "I've never been to New York!"—a statement that will no longer be true starting in March.
Unfortunately, you won't be able to take a selfie with the world's most famous Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center at this point. But unlike the world's largest tree, you can't win anything either!
We are delighted with Theresa and Malia's belated Christmas present and say: congratulations!
