Foundation stone laid for the world's largest Christmas tree: Kick-off for Dortmund's Christmas City 2025
Kick-off for Dortmund's Christmas City 2025
Today in Dortmund, the foundation stone for the world's largest Christmas tree was traditionally laid – a festive moment marking the official start of Dortmund's Christmas City 2025. Numerous citizens, representatives from politics and business, as well as the market traders' and showmen's association, were present to jointly usher in the Advent season.
In their speeches, the participants emphasized the special significance of the Christmas City as a place of encounter and community. Just as the impressive tree is composed of many small fir trees, the Christmas City also arises from the collaboration of many dedicated people – a symbol of cohesion, shared values, and what makes Dortmund so special year after year during Advent.
With the laying of the foundation stone, the festive season is drawing ever closer – and the anticipation of sparkling lights, fragrant alleys and a warm sense of community grows day by day.
Many Dortmund citizens, among others, congratulate the organizers on the ceremonial laying of the foundation stone of the world's largest Christmas tree:
